Basic Pay
Monthly base salary set by rank and years of service.
Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH)

Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS)
Non-taxable monthly food allowance.
Special and Incentive (S&I) Pay

Federal income earned in a combat zone is excluded from taxable income.

Blended Retirement System (BRS) or Legacy High-3, plus TSP.

Federal 401(k)-style retirement account with up to 5% government match under BRS.
Clothing Allowance
Annual uniform maintenance allowance for enlisted members.
Hardship Duty Pay (HDP)
Additional pay for service in designated hardship locations or missions.
Hazardous Duty Incentive Pay (HDIP)
Monthly pay for members performing designated hazardous duties.
Flight Pay (ACIP / HDIP-Aerial Flight)
Monthly incentive for aviators and aircrew.
Career Sea Pay
Monthly pay for members serving on qualifying vessels.
Foreign Language Proficiency Bonus (FLPB)
Monthly bonus for members proficient in a strategic foreign language.
Family Separation Allowance (FSA)
$250/month allowance when duty separates a member from dependents for 30+ days.
