What it is

Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGLI) provides up to $500,000 of coverage during service. Veterans' Group Life Insurance (VGLI) converts SGLI to civilian coverage without medical underwriting if elected within the required window.

  • Active-duty, Reserve/Guard members (SGLI); separating veterans (VGLI, if timely elected).
